Breast Reduction Reviews
"I hope my previous review still shows. I just want to say that it's been almost 2 years since my saline breast implants surgery. In a little over 3 months it will be 2 years since my breast explantation (having implants removed). Wonderful news (Dr. Kasden knew), less than a month after breast explantation, I found out I was pregnant. We didn't find out the gender of this baby (Baby #3), we kept it a surprise until birth. I worried about breastfeeding and the health of the baby since I went through two major surgeries within less than a year of due date. My second son, he's a boy was born in March and is very healthy. He's almost 1 years old and I'm still breastfeeding. Everything works just fine and I feel great. I want to let everyone know that it takes time to heal, it takes time for your body to heal. For me, it felt awkward throughout my pregnancy and even when I first started breastfeeding. I just would wonder sometimes, 'is everything ok?' Keep praying and stay in the WORD and you will make it and be just fine. I'm happy that I healed well and I'm doing fine and I've been blessed with another child. I hope all is going well Dr. Kasden, Take Care and God Bless!"- L.L. / Yelp / Mar 07, 2018
"Four Stars - Having had previous plastic surgery I usually look forward to it. This time I needed my breast implants removed, being that I have had them for 20+ years. I consulted with many doctors and had been told how bad my breasts will look if I don't replace the implants, which I did not want to do. Dr. Kasden assured me I would be able to fix any issues with a good bra and did not pressure me to replace the implants. I am so happy with the results and yes Dr. Kasden was right, I found a good bra and feel fantastic."- Anonymous / Vitals / Mar 31, 2012

Dr. Kasden always made me feel comfortable and made time to discuss my concerns. I was able to follow up with him after the procedure with any thing I felt uncomfortable about through his office staff and via his email address on his website. Surgical Technique for Breast Reduction
Breast reduction surgery is an outpatient treatment that is performed with general anesthesia. The duration of the surgery is dependent upon a variety of factors, including what incision method is used, the overall technique, and finally, the degree of reduction. The nipple and areola repositioning will also be a factor. In most cases, liposuction is required for fat removal to decrease the breast size. During the consultation, all of these factors are addressed with Dr. Kasden. Depending on the complexity of the reduction, either an anchor or a vertical incision will be used. The breast tissue will be removed, and the remaining tissue and skin will be tightened.
What to Expect from Breast Reduction Surgery
After surgery, you will be observed closely in a recovery area and then released to continue your recovery at home. A draining tube will most likely be placed near the surgical site to help control swelling and bleeding. A medical sports bra should be worn for several days to improve blood flow to the breasts during the initial healing period. In about a month, the breasts will settle and the post-op effects will disappear. The majority of patients remark they feel relieved, lighter, and more self-assured. After breast reduction surgery, you can buy the clothes you have always wanted and feel confident about your new shape. Remember, it is still important to stay at a healthy weight so the results are not negatively impacted.
Frequently Asked Questions for Breast Reduction Surgery
How much does breast reduction surgery cost?
The cost of your breast reduction surgery will be discussed with Dr. Kasden during your consultation. Once he has developed your personal treatment plan, it will be easier to estimate your costs, including anesthesia, fees for the surgical facility, and more. Breast reduction surgery often causes a significant improvement in a patient's life, so our team will help you find low-interest medical financing to help make your treatment affordable. We can also help you work with your health insurance company to see if they will cover some of your costs.
Will my insurance cover breast reduction?
In some cases, your health insurance may cover part of the cost of breast reduction surgery if it is deemed medically necessary. If you are considering using your insurance, tell Dr. Kasden so he can help you with your insurance claim. You should also talk to your insurance company to find out if your specific policy may cover the surgery and what they need to approve it. Your insurance will most likely decide based on measurements like your height, weight, body mass index (BMI), and body surface area.
Will my nipples be moved?
In most cases, the nipples and areola will be shifted up to a higher position on the breast during the surgery. If a large amount of breast tissue and skin are being removed, your nipple-areola complex may need to be moved. Dr. Kasden will choose a technique like the anchor incision so the nipple and areola can be moved higher on the breast. It is also possible to reduce the size of the areola with an areolatome. All of these options will be discussed during your consultation before Dr. Kasden helps you decide on the best treatment plan to achieve your goals.
Can I breastfeed after a breast reduction?
Breast reduction surgery may affect your ability to breastfeed. While some women may still be able to breastfeed after a reduction, some cannot. It is difficult to predict whether your surgery will cause you problems with breastfeeding. For this reason, Dr. Kasden recommends that patients be done having children or be willing to not breastfeed before having breast reduction surgery.
Can my breasts regrow after surgery?
After breast reduction surgery, your breasts can get bigger or smaller with significant weight changes. This is why it's helpful to be at a healthy, stable weight before your surgery that's easy for you to maintain. During your consultation, Dr. Kasden will talk to you about the best ways to prepare for your surgery and what you should do after to ensure you are happy with your results.
