About Breast Lift Surgery
Breast lift surgery is a cosmetic treatment that lifts and reshapes the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to create a firmer, younger appearance. This body contouring surgery is great for women who have lost breast shape and volume and who have breast sag due to breastfeeding, weight loss, aging, or gravity. Huge advancements in breast lift surgery have made this surgical procedure so successful that new stats from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show an approximate 70% increase in demand since 2000. Dr. Scott Kasden, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Argyle, TX, performs breast lift surgery using advanced techniques for beautiful results. By integrating the most state-of-the-art methods, Dr. Kasden can decide on the correct technique according to the level of sag present, as well as your unique goals.
Ideal Candidates for Breast Lift
You may visit the plastic surgery practice of Scott E. Kasden, M.D. believing you are a candidate for fuller breasts with breast implants; however, after a physical exam, you may realize that a breast lift is a better choice. This is dependent on the level of sag that is present. Breasts that point downward in most cases need a lift to correct skin irregularities and lift the breasts to a higher position. If your nipples point downward and your breasts appear stretched, a cosmetic lift can improve their appearance. If you are considering a breast lift, you should be good overall health and at a stable weight.
Breast Lift Reviews
"Dr. Kasden is a physician that conducts himself AND his practice in an extremely professional manner. He takes the time to get to know you as a patient, and as a human-being.I have had a tummy tuck/lateral thigh lift, breast lift, lip fillers, and a series of other minimal procedures performed by Dr. Kasden, and there is absolutely NO comparison.[and I consulted with three other board-certified plastic surgeons before selecting Dr. K]A few days ago he performed a scar revision for my already 99.9% perfect result, and I still can't believe how great the results are!Dr. Kasden did the procedure solely and purely to ensure my complete happiness;he did not complete the scar revision to make money by any means,as it cost me very little.I know personally Dr. Kasden's heart, and there absolutely is not a more moral and ethically responsible physician out there that compares to Dr. Kasden! I recommend him to everyone I know,& will enjoy returning to him over the upcoming years for further procedures in the future.Dr. Kasden is not just a doctor,he is a true and honest friend.I just adore him...and if I could rate him higher than five stars,I WOULD!"- K. / RealSelf / Jun 19, 2018
"38 year old getting a breast lift after 2 babies under 2yo - A little about me- I'm 38 and I just had my 2nd (and last) baby. I'm 5'4 116lbs bra size 36dd. I have always had large breast and have wanted a lift for the past 10 years but I have waited patiently to start my family first. Now it's my time! I am only 2 lbs away from my goal weight and I'm also considering lipo of my flanks but that is undecided. I've met with several doctors in the dfw area and found my dr soulmate yesterday. Dr. Scott Kasden. Other doctors rushed through my consultation and didn't ask me any questions of my desired outcome and I felt like I wasn't taken seriously. When I met with Dr. Kasden he was VERY thorough and spent nearly 2 hours with me! He asked me a million questions and explained everything to me about the procedure. I feel like he isn't in his practice for the money but to actually help people feel and look their very best. In the waiting room he had an elderly patient waiting and brought her a glass of water because she looked dehydrated! I was amazed and almost cried. I talked with Beth who is a very helpful, sweet lady and she booked my surgery for January 12. I'm so excited, pics are coming soon. I will post more after my pre-op app.Updated on 7 Jan 2018:Just 2 more days until my pre op appointment and 5 days until surgery. I'm getting so nervous!! I'm now second guessing myself on rather or not to have an implant and also the size I would like to be. I told the ps I would like a c cup but now I'm thinking small d. I want them small but not sure I want them THAT small. And if I decided on an implant is it too late? I'm freaking out!!On another note I've arranged for my mom to help me with my babies one week and a nanny the second. I really hope that's enough time to recover before picking them up , as this has been my main concern. I'm crying already that I won't be able to hold my 4mo. I've bought all my supplies and supplements and have stopped eating sugar and drinking alcohol as of January 1. I've also been busy getting my house in order to make things a lot easier on my mom. Her and I are looking forward to relaxing together and watching lots of tv!I'll repost in two days after my pre op!!Updated on 16 Feb 2018:I'm so happy with my results! I can't believe what a difference a breast lift made for my entire body. I feel like my body looks like it did in my 20's and I'm able to wear so many different styles now. I am so happy I chose Dr Kasden as my surgeon. Every post-op visit has been painless. I was very worried about having the drains removed but I didn't even feel it. I highly recommend him to myfamily , friends ,and clients."- J. / RealSelf / Sep 25, 2018

His office staff Beth, is always very kind and takes the time to get you an appointment when it’s convenient for you. I have recommended DrKasden to friends and family, who have also had great results. I would highly recommend DrKasden for any cosmetic procedure.Best Regards, DeLyn D"- D. / RealSelf / Sep 25, 2018
"Best Decision - Dr. Kasden for Breast Lift, Arm Lift, & Neck Lipo - After several consults with other highly rated Drs. in an area with lots of qualified plastic surgeons, I chose Dr. Kasden for Breast Lift, Arm Lift, & Neck/Chin Lipo at age 46, post-significant weight loss, and 8 years after breastfeeding twins. I knew he had experience with patients like me and he did not disappoint. I am beyond pleased - Dr. Kasden spent almost two hours with me during the first consult, alone, was honest about expectations, and even had me watch videos of some procedures he had performed to make sure I knew what I was getting into. Dr. Kasden was always “there” for me during the recovery period and even met with me on a Sunday within hours of me calling him about a concern so he could evaluate me. His coordinator, Beth, was caring, helpful, and got to know me and my story personally. The surgery itself was long (9 hours) and the recovery was, too - I didn’t start to feel like I had turned the “corner” for about 6 weeks - but, with Dr. Kasden’s help, the results were worth it. I’m now planning to return for tummy tuck and possibly breast implants. If you are truly ready to embark on a journey to realistically transform your body, understand that surgery isn’t pretty and comes with real risks, and want a surgeon who cares about how you look and feel, well beyond your surgery date, then call Dr. Kasden! Before/After pics forthcoming."- M. / RealSelf / Sep 25, 2018
"I am no stranger to PS. In 2012, I decided to have my bat wings (thanks Grandma for that gene) and a breast lift. The latter I figured, why not? You're already in the area. My surgeon is the absolute best in the DFW area. I searched and consulted with 3 others and decided that Dr. Kasden in Southlake was the Dr for me.Fast forward to 2017 and I decided to get the rest of my body to a look that only I could see when looking in the mirror. My biggest motivation was the tummy tuck and the removal of a fairly grisly "FUPA". I've had the FUPA since I began puberty and with weight gain as a child, loss, then 2 children, no amount of dieting or excercise would ever alleviate this problem. I consulted with Dr Kasden this year and he walked me through the entire process. His technique for the tummy tuck amazed me! I couldn't wait to see his newer results. A few days after the consult, I woke up and thought...why not get a thigh lift as well. I have the same issues there that I had before the arm lift. Fat just sits next to my trunk never to leave. I know most of you live with the inner thighs rubbing or even just being stuck together....so uncomfortable! I wanted to look banging (as much as a 48yo woman can be) in a swim suit. Dr. Kasden asked me to come back in and he explained the thigh lift surgery. Again, I was intrigued and excited. Dr K thoroughly enjoys his profession and you cannot find another surgeon who has his bedside manner.Currently, I am 3 days post op and I will add pictures and updates as they come along. It is my hope that if you are looking to enhance your current body to what you know it is supposed to look like, I hope that I can be an encouragement to you.Best of Blessings.......ChrissyUpdated on 3 Aug 2017:Today marks the one week since the surgery. I was able to visit with Dr. Kasden on Tuesday (2 days ago) to see how I am healing. My scars are healing up nicely, my drains are working properly, my pain management has been on par. All in all, I am healing as projected. During the appointment, Dr. K removed my old dressings, monitored my drainage paperwork and added clean dressings. He also provided my new waist trainer. He also instructed my husband and I in how to keep this garment in place to aid in the healing process.I am completely excited and my spirits continue to be high every day. I am posting new pictures that are dated the day of surgery. It is my hope to have more pictures tomorrow to begin week two. I continue to hope to be an encouragement to you in your own journey. Please feel free to reach out and ask me any questions that you may have in regards to your preparation or any decisions you are contemplating.Updated on 3 Aug 2017:Attached are pictures of sections of my abdomen removalUpdated on 3 Aug 2017:The overnight stay in the hospital went as well as can be expected. I wanted to upload some post surgery pictures prior to when the swelling began. I am extremely pleased with the procedure and have patience to wait until the swelling goes down to view the completed transformation."- C. / RealSelf / Jun 19, 2018
Surgical Technique for Breast Lift
Breast lift surgery takes approximately 2 – 4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. The timeframe of this procedure depends on the complexity of breast ptosis (sagging). The method used for cosmetic breast lift surgery generally falls under two categories — these are based on the size and location needed for the incision. The anchor technique (inverted-T) and the vertical incisions are the most commonly used types. After making the incision, loose skin is removed along with any breast tissue and fat that is not needed. The remaining skin is then pulled tight and the breasts are lifted so they look healthy. In many cases, the size of the areola can be decreased to match the new breast.
What To Expect from a Breast Lift
The recovery for breast lift surgery is usually longer than breast augmentation. After surgery, you will be fitted with a support bra to minimize swelling. A small tube may be placed near the incision site to assist with excess draining, which can sometimes occur after a surgery of this nature. The post-surgical swelling should diminish within 3 – 5 days. Dr. Kasden or a member of his team will provide detailed, at-home incision care instructions to help your healing process. Results following a surgical breast lift are most noticeable after several months as your newly shaped breasts take their new position on your chest wall. The breasts will look and feel natural, and you will feel younger, prettier, and in sync with your frame.
Frequently Asked Questions about Breast Lift Surgery
How much does a breast lift cost?
In your initial consultation, Dr. Kasden will listen to your needs and aesthetic goals before developing your unique treatment plan. After that, he can better estimate your costs. When done well, a breast lift can significantly improve your appearance, so it's important to focus on having an experienced surgeon with extensive training, like Dr. Kasden, over costs. To help make cosmetic surgery easier to afford, the plastic surgery practice of Scott E. Kasden, M.D. can help you find low-interest medical financing.
Do I need a breast lift or breast implants?
Whether you should get a breast lift, an augmentation with implants or both will depend on your unique concerns and goals. In many patients, a breast lift can improve the shape and fullness of the breasts without implants. Dr. Kasden will assess your physical condition and listen to your goals in your consultation, then decide whether you should get a lift, implants, or a breast augmentation with a lift.
Will my nipples be moved?
In most cases, the nipple-areola complex will be shifted up during the breast lift. If your areolas are overly large or stretched, Dr. Kasden can include an areola reduction during your surgery. This can be discussed during your consultation so he can decide on the best incision pattern and technique to use during your breast lift.
How long will my results last?
With proper care after surgery, your results should last for many years. Your breasts will continue to age normally so you may begin to see sagging and loose skin over time. Factors like significant weight gain or loss can alter your results, so it's best to maintain a stable weight after your breast lift. Pregnancy or breastfeeding after a breast lift can also affect your results, which is why Dr. Kasden recommends patients wait until they are done having children to get a breast lift.
Can a breast lift fix asymmetry?
A lift can improve asymmetry in your breasts if they are different in size, firmness, or degree of sagging. Dr. Kasden will assess the physical condition and appearance of your breasts during your consultation and discuss how a breast lift can help you. During your surgery, he will shape the tissue so your breasts are equal in size and position for better symmetry.
