Trophy Club Gentleman Treated with Blepharoplasty to Restore Youthful Appearance

Procedure Details

This 49-year-old gentleman was unhappy with his eyelids. He complained that his baggy lower lids and heavy upper lids made him look older than his stated years and tired. He said that people called him "Deputy Dog", after the cartoon of the same name. The patient's goals were to achieve a more youthful and rested appearance. He wanted to look natural and wanted minimal surgery. He also was quite concerned that he did not want any surgery that would feminize his appearance. The blepharoplasty focused on removing excessive fat pads that caused the "bags" along with the excess, redundant skin. The lower lids were re-suspended laterally to maintain lid position, and some of the fat pads from the lower lids was repositioned to fill in the hollow above the cheekbone (tear trough deformity). This surgical plan resolved all of the patient's main concerns using the least invasive technique while preserving his masculine appearance. Blepharoplasty does NOT smooth out the fine lines and wrinkles due to sun damage, as the post-op pics demonstrate. These wrinkles are treated with skin resurfacing, which the patient declined. The patient had an unremarkable recovery and was very pleased with his results.
