40 Year Old Woman Hates her Mommy Tummy

This 40-year-old mother of three presents with a diastasis with a "pot belly", excess skin, a "hangover" of skin, and prune-like abdomen. The patient was unhappy with her appearance despite being in excellent shape, and lean. As a result of the presenting complaints, the patient felt self-conscious to the point that she refused to let her husband see her without clothes on. A Tummy tuck was chosen to correct the generalized abdominal wall weakness l that extended to the ribs, remove the excess skin, and correct her umbilical hernia. Some liposuction was performed in the lower abdomen and in the love handle areas. A tummy tuck was the only procedure that could address all of the identified concerns. The patient's goal was to feel good enough that she will be comfortable with her husband during intimate times. The patient's procedure went without complication, and her recovery was unremarkable. She is very happy with her outcome and her decision to do something for herself after all the years of doing for everyone else.
